Have we come too far?

So the car caught their fancy! They fell in love with it before they knew it.
They simply sat and went for a drive,
consumed in each other's company.
And the drive became a journey soon enough.

Every view that they stopped at and admired,
The breeze through their hair,
The smiles and laughs they shared,
The times they comforted each other,
tranquilly observing the perspective in the roads....
and recognizing the presence of the other.
The tired eyes, one closing and another filled with affection.
Their touch and those goosebumps from the chill,
The fire and the warmth,
The lingering smell of the smoke that rose from the wood;
The grass that left their feet moist with dew,
The giggling at the tickling that felt, then those cheeks with dimples and not.
The rush that could not be restrained.
The liquid that they drank together , which mildly burnt against their lips;
Those fingers, shy, that curled when they felt pairs of eyes on them;
Those circles of brown and greenish grey,
The tongues with a flavor of vanilla and chocolate together,
The sight of the stars in the night sky when they lay on the naked ground,
The stones that hurt against their backs,
The bruises that looked different in contrast to their respective skins,
They were different but the same.

The drive that kept on.....and on
And it was a dream .
With castles and dinosaurs.
It could not have been real.
The car must have been mystical, perhaps.

And one day, when basking in the afterglow of the dream
that they dreamt together every night....
she asked him,
" Honey, have we come too far? "
